Special Conference on Water Scarcity
22 May 12
- 23 May 12
Glasgow - Radison Blu Hotel
This two-day conference aims to highlight the concerns and
discuss what can be done to address water scarcity in a global,
European and UK context - already a great concern in the south west
of England and something that will become more severe without
action. With a programme that will include presentations from
recognised sector experts from governments, industry and academia
around the world, this conference will attract an audience of
global and European opinion-formers and decision-makers. The
conference will also consider what opportunities and enterprise
might become available to manage this growing crisis.
This is your chance to help form the opinions of the
opinion-formers, and influence the decisions of the
decision-makers.
Speakers include:
- Professor Patricia Wouters (UNESCO, University of Dundee)
- Tony Allen (Winner of the Stockholm Water Prize)
- Ned Breslin (CEO, Water for People)
- Alan Sutherland (CEO, Water Industry Commission for
Scotland).
It will be opened by the Cabinet Secretary for Scotland, Alex
Neil MSP. You will find out how water scarcity is being
handled in different parts of the world, and what projects are
being developed which could suit your own organisation.
