    • Jonathan Glerum - Junior Vice Chair

      Jonathan joined CIRIA in September 2009 and is currently working as a project manager within their water group. Prior to this he completed a Masters in Environmental Systems Engineering at UCL, a CIWEM accredited course. Jonathan is a member of CIRIA's water advisory group and is currently project managing a range of projects related to flood risk management.

       

      Jonathan is one of the newest members of the Metropolitan branch's committee, and he is responsible for helping to encourage new membership and mentoring individuals keen to become chartered.

    • Niall Greenan - Honorary Secretary and Treasurer

      Niall has 3 years experience within the disciplines of civil and environmental engineering. In October 2010 he joined Water Environment Limited as a Consultant Engineer specialising in flood risk management, and also to provide specialist technical services within the water environment sector. He is currently working towards full membership of CIWEM, and also progressing to achieve Chartered Engineer status with the Engineering Council UK and Chartered Environmentalist status with the Society of Environment.

      Last year Niall completed an MSc in Water and Environmental Management at the University of Bristol, and during his studies was closely affiliated with WaterAid. In July 2010 he commissioned an expedition to Tanzania to climb Mt Kilimanjaro raising much needed funds and awareness for the charity.

      Prior to this Niall graduated in 2007 from Edinburgh Napier University with a BSc (Hons) in Civil Engineering and in 2005 with a BEng in Civil Engineering Materials from Letterkenny Institute of Technology in Ireland

      Trevor Harrington is a Trustee Board member of CIWEM and the Chairman of its Engineering Professional Board which has responsibility for membership applications for new Chartered Engineers and Environmentalists. 

      He has been involved with the Metropolitan Branch as a Committee member for over 20 years and held the position of Branch Chairman.

      His environmental management experience has been gained through various managerial roles with Thames Water for over 30 years and now is a Senior Manager with London Underground responsible for the asset management of its civils assets.

    • Tayab Malik - New Members Representative

      Tayyab recently joined CIWEM as a Graduate member and is a new committee member. Tayyab is responsible to assist branch secretary in day to day matters.

      Tayyab completed his Bsc. Agricultural Engineering in 1995. Worked in Rice husking manufacturing Japan based company Kaneko as Project Engineer. Soon after he obtained his first masters degree in Water Resources Management in 1998. Worked in IWASRI (International water logging and salinity research institute) as research engineer. During his work with IWASRI he conducted a case study for flat canal Irrigated areas; he also developed rainfall runoff relationship for a catchment area of Qaiser drain.

      Tayyab obtained his second masters in Civil Engineering from University of East London in 2001. Worked as Quality control engineer in Alcatel. Tayyab also worked for Fujitsu and David S Smith Group for some time. Now Tayyab is working as a volunteer engineer for a world wide charity and helping them on dig a well project.

      Becky Humphrey is an environmental consultant with URS-Scott Wilson. She is a water specialist and works on environmental impact assessment and environmental management projects, mainly in Africa. Becky is Vice chair of the Met branch, has been on the Met Branch committee for three years. Her role involves supporting Will as chairman and deputising for him as necessary. Over the next year, Becky will take responsibility for ensuring we have a good long-term programme of events that are advertised as early as possible. She hopes to introduce more international issues into the evening meetings and get more site visits into the programme.
